Update Log
12/12 - Goddamnit Donut
The Quickie gauntlet kicks off with January 2025. Guess what series I started reading this year.
(12/14) Ten months after Valentine's Day, it's February and the answer to the question I proposed a couple days ago.
(12/18) March is here with more cats.
(12/22) "You will not break me" becomes a running theme in April.
(12/24) Christmas Eve brings us the May quickies and the last Dungeon Crawler Carl book for a while.
(12/26) This Boxing Day, I'm going to share with you the story how Metal Gear Rising helped me finally beat the Roaring Knight in the June quickies.

11/18 - Where There's Good and There's Bad
It's been two months since my last update, so I thought I'd give a life update. As you're probably aware, Windows 10 support ended in October and my laptop ran Windows 10 so that machine's relegated to offline work now. Yeah I could probably update it, but that laptop was from 2019 and I didn't want to take a chance with forcing Windows 11 on it.
But also, that laptop was a major source of doomscrolling and for the sake of my mental health I've been trying to cut way back on social media and Internet in general, so I took Windows 10's end of life as an opportunity to do so. It's easy to stay off social media on my desktop because I don't associate (for lack of a better word) it with social media like I did my laptop, and it's best if I don't ruin that. Now I'm trying to train myself to stop spending my night looking at brainrot on YouTube and spending them reading or at least watching shows on Netflix (The Cuphead Show slaps).
You might remember that Quickie gauntlet I did last year, where I focused on one month at a time and released a page (or two, for short months) every few days? I actually had fun doing that, so I'm going to try it again in December.

9/17 - Loch Dess
After three months of digging through hundreds of pages of comics, we're celebrating Deltarune Chapter 2's fourth anniversary with my coverage of Chapters 3 and 4: Son of the Knight of the Fox - Part 4.

8/18 - Deltarune Next Month
No update but I did want to let you know that after weeks of getting nosebleed any time I looked at The Invisibles, the next part of the Deltarune/Grant Morrison project is written up. Now it's time for the polishing. I'm going to set it aside for a week, do some fine-tuning, leave it alone for another week, then spend any remaining time on more fine-tuning and tossing anything else I remember into the Miscellany section. It will be released on September 17th for Chapter 2's fourth anniversary.

7/04 - Deltarune Last Month
What better way to celebrate Independence Day than finally finishing the main story of that Spamton comic after three fucking years and one month: What Goes Around - Part 2.
There are a handful of filler comics I kinda want to do but I'm not even going to think about them until autumn or even winter. Yeah, obviously I want to focus on the next part of the Grant Morrison project. At first I thought I'd have done in August, but realistically that's when I'll have the first draft done and then I'll have to spend a month polish polish polishing. Maybe I'll save it for September 17th so it can be a Chapter 2 4-year-anniversary thing. But it's summer and even though we got air conditioning installed last year it's still muggy here and I don't want to be hunched over a Wacom One right now.
I also want to take a break from digital art and spend some time working with traditional media and not just because I need to work through some of the supplies I stuffed up on while Joann was going out of business.

6/14 - Deltarune Last Week
The end of the Spamton comic is finally in sight with the first part of the final chapter, What Goes Around - Part 1.
By the way, I'm totally willing to take the L on what Deltarune Chapter 3's optional boss turned out to be (still, my prediction wasn't so much "I know with 100% confidence this will happen" and more "I will die laughing if this happens") but holy shit, we got some stuff to discuss with Chapters 3 and 4. But the chapters are still relatively recent, I need time to put it together, and I need to finish this comic so it's a ways out.

6/03 - Deltarune Tomorrow
When Deltarune Chapter 3 and 4's release date was announced, I figured it was finally time to get into gear and complete the final chapter of the Great Deal Route. But because I'm still struggling between the desire to finish what I started and the knowledge that if the whole point of Deltarune is that the player is the true villain then I'm drawing fan art for a world I'm not actually welcome in, I still couldn't work on it for very long before tapping out.
It's eleven pages broken up into six-page and a five-page parts, all the pages are drawn, nine are inked, but as I was working on the flats for the first part I kept noticing mistakes like arms and props being too big or the spikes on Susie's arm bands not being drawn on and I'd get horribly sick to my stomach after just a few minutes. It's been three years, I wanted to be done with it before the next chapters dropped, but I guess it's going to have to be a post-release treat before I return to the Grant Morrison mine. And yes, I did finally read The Invisibles (although one doesn't so much read The Invisibles as attempt to penetrate it), plus three more Morrison books.
You know what's odd? I published the original comic on 6/04/2022. Chapters 3 and 4 are releasing midnight 6/05/2025 in Japan, which is 6/04/2025 in America. That means Chapters 3 and 4 come out three years to the day from when I first published this comic. Maybe if I'd published it sooner we'd already know if Chapter 3's secret boss has a death touch, can ghost through walls, or is an insane Superman.

2/24 - Witty Title
After six months of struggling through art block bordering on life block, I managed to scrape together the will to throw together a one-page filler comic, A Time to Think, which I couldn't even come up with a decent name for.

12/31 - Baby Steps
In an attempt to catch up on the Quickies, I'm going to try rapid-firing them out one at a time. My intent is to focus on one month instead of jumping around between three, but who knows how long that's going to last. Today we've got April.
(01/03) Instead of glutting the log with updates, I'm just going to post the next updates to the Quickies under this one, continuing with May.
(01/05) June is ready to go. July might take a little longer because, wow, I have barely anything written for that month.
(01/10) We've got Christmas in July! In, uh, January.
(01/12) August didn't take long, mainly because the longest quickie was already mostly written. Yeah, soon as I was done with that game it was raging time.
(01/13) September was so short it's already done.
(01/15) Sweeping through with October.
(01/16) We're wrapping up with both November and December because both months only have one thing.
Eyyyy, I actually did it! Gonna take a break before I do the year review, though.
(01/29) Ah, screw it, gonna drop the 2024 in Review page in here, too.
Now that I'm all caught up on the Quickies, maybe I can scrape together the will to do another Spamton comic, even if it's just a one-page filler comic.
