The Eye of the Bedlam Bride: Dungeon Crawler Carl VI (Carl Dinniman)

It's not uncommon for a comedic story to get progressively more serious as it goes on, and you really start to feel that here. The climax of the Gate of the Feral Gods was Gloriously Fucked Up, and The Butcher's Masquerade had, uh, the thing with the mantis queen and princess which was Eww Fucked Up. This book's second act is the most HOLY SHIT Fucked Up thing in the whole series. Carl learns something that shatters his world and pisses on the shards, and just when you think it's over, it gets even worse. And really, Dinniman, did anyone need further convincing Bea was a total cunt?
Then all Hell literally breaks loose and everybody gives Carl shit for it, claiming if he had killed somebody in the first act the whole disaster never would have happened. Why does nobody acknowledge that if he had killed that person, things would have turned out even worse for a lot of people?
